Banar River
Overview of Banar River
Banar River one of the main rivers of the madhupur tract. Several streams originating from the highland of the Tract north of madhupur and phulbari upazilas join at the southeast of trishal to form the Banar. Flowing south the river bifurcates into two, the eastern arm flows into the old brahmaputra and the southeastern arm falls into the shitalakshya. The eastern arm which meets the Old Brahmaputra flows further ahead and ultimately joins with the Shitalakshya. Finally the Banar becomes a tributary of Shitalakshya.
