Overview of Dhaka Residential Model College
Dhaka Residential Model College formerly known as Residential Model School, was set up on an area of about 50 acres at Mohammadpur, dhaka in 1960 under the direct control and management of the government of Pakistan. In 1962, the central government handed it over to the provincial government, which constituted a board of governors for managing its affairs. After the liberation of Bangladesh, the school was placed under control of an autonomous board of governors headed by the secretary, ministry of education. With 19 buildings, of which 5 are for hostels, it is one of the largest residential schools cum colleges in the country. In 1999, it had about 600 students in classes from III to XII. The number of teachers was 90, of whom 20 were female.
